RISE Project
RISE is an international project co-funded by the European Union. It connects partner institutions across Slovakia, Poland, Portugal and Greece to develop sustainable education approaches.
The RISE project is based on the multiperspective and interdisciplinary approach in HE theory and practice. RISE enables to create a portfolio for multidimensional discussions about sustainable development and impact of SD strategies in education, using the AI and modern cognitive technologies, ethical approaches in the fields taught at partners’ institutions. It reflects trends and demands of current education and global labour market. RISE is not only the acronym of the project, it means also RISE in awareness, knowledge, skills and empowerment.
The RISE project is unique in its content, approaches and partnership. It is based on interdisciplinary theory and practice where interdisciplinary approach gives the possibility to draw knowledge from other fields that are defined by the project partners and elaborated into the project goals and planned outcomes. Supporting blended learning belongs to top priorities of Erasmus KA2 call for 2025. The project addresses the key objectives defined in several strategic documents as Education for 21. century, Education for sustainable development, Digital Education Action Plan 2021 - 2027 and reflects multiperspectivity in HE, priority areas of Erasmus+ KA2 call 2025: “Environment sustainability” supports awareness-raising about green transition and practices, environmental and climate-change challenges, “Digital dimension” where cooperation concerning virtual and blended learning opportunities are important and “Inclusion”, because the project aims to participants and target groups from diverse backgrounds. Project addresses sectoral priority area “Stimulating innovative learning and teaching practices”.
Main goal is sufficient implementation of SD principles, digital education and rise environmental awareness. It refers to the challenges HE studies face arising from the use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools. The stimulation of innovative education will be performed through the project activities (round table, joint staff training, workshops, meetings with local actors), disseminated at international conference, by common publication and through project website, universities websites and internet platforms.
Project results:
There are three main results complementary to each other: R1 - online library of educational lectures and materials, R2 - sustainable education course (SEC) based on a new SD curriculum as an open content based hybrid education modules and R3 - common publication. SEC will serve as a platform for developing new university study programs.
